Es muy importante tener en cuenta que la ubicación no tenga corrientes de aires, demasiada luz o cualquier otro tipo de inconveniente, sobre todo para que la tortuga reciba la luz necesaria pero que también tenga un lugar de sombra. El lugar debe ser tan seguro que ninguna otra mascota pueda llegar hasta el terrario, sobre todo en el caso de que tengamos perros o gatos, que son muy curiosos.
Si hemos decidido instalar el terrario en nuestra habitación, debemos ofrecerle espacio suficiente para que la tortuga pueda habitar el terrario tranquilamente y evitar colocarlo en la mesa donde trabajemos dentro del cuarto, para que de esta manera la tortuga no sienta las vibraciones al teclear el ordenador, al escribir y demás.
Es cuestión de ver si en nuestra habitación hay sitio o si por el contrario podemos ubicar el terrario en el salón, que es otro de los lugares donde habitualmente pasamos mucho tiempo, dejando de lado la opción de la cocina, que no es una ubicación adecuada para ninguna mascota que tengamos en casa.
